May 18, 1977. Opening the Artist’s Eye
Living in the north of Holland, the artist is unable to create any new works of art for a number of weeks and becomes distressed
Contemplating his condition, he comes to the conclusion that he has been blinded (his artistic eye has been closed) by his idyllic lifestyle
For this reason he spends an entire night with his eye covered by a sterile pad covered in Boorwater
This being unsuccessful he asks a fellow artist to surgically open his eye
With little difficulty this is accomplished
Immediately upon the opening of his eye, the artist sees that he has been confronted by a work of art.
